Plan it, Build it, Love it!

We do fence and gate contracting. We build Decks and Fences that fit your space, as well as your budget, from small front porches, to custom Ipe fences. A deck or fence can transform a normal yard into a space you can retreat to.

Fences originally were built to hold livestock in one place, basic designs that worked, and lasted. We want to capture that when we build, something that works and something that lasts. If it keeps the dog in the yard it works… if it keeps your neighbours eyes off your roses it works… and if you step outside in the morning with your coffee, smell the cedar and just look at how beautiful your back yard is, it works. This is what we are thinking about as our end result, and you should too.

Some things to think about…

· A fence usually has two sides, your side and the person who lives next to you. It’s a good idea to chat with your neighbour, and see if they may also be interested in the fence project. Usually their side is also coming down, and if they share in some of the projects, you both get a new fence and save money at the same time!

· Building material is not limited to just pressure treated vs cedar anymore. There are pvc products for both decking and cladding, exotic hardwoods that look beautiful and last forever, white cedar, red cedar, knotty cedar… reclaimed lumber as well. These options can range from just over 1$ per foot for your average 1×6 deck or fence board, to well over $7 per foot.

· Decks are turning into additional rooms on our homes. Keep this in mind when thinking about what kind of deck you want. Will it have a sitting area, a dining area, possibly an outdoor kitchen? If the deck is designed to complement your current living space, you will spend more time out enjoying it.

· At some point on this site you have read about the importance for a plan. So I will try not to keep forcing it on you, but really… nothing works like a plan!
